Robin soft toy, measures approx. 6.7'' (17cm)

Known in Galician as Paporroibo, the Robin is a common resident breeder in Galicia's Celtic rainforest, as well as in parkland and gardens.

In Galician folklore, the Robin likes to keep an eye on children and let the parent's know of their whereabouts. When the little ones wondered how their parents always knew where or what they did while playing outside, Galician parents used to answer "the Robin told us".

The Robin suffered a decline in Galicia as most of the nation's Celtic rainforest (called Fraga in Galician) were substituted by commercial plantations of eucalyptus trees over the last century. In recent times a number of environmental groups have taken the initiative to restore areas of native woodland to give a home to Galicia's native animals like the Robin. One of these newly restorated Celtic rainforest is the beautiful Ridimoas fraga in Beade, Co. Ribeiro.

This is a cuddly, singing soft toy with an authentic digitally reproduced bird call. This lovely Robin simply neds a squeeze and you can listen to his call. Perfect for story-telling and imagination play by bird-loving children and adults alike.
