The Galician Regiment was a military unit created after 1715 as a merger of the provincial regiments of Corunna, Lugo and Ourense.

The Regiment's banner was a military version of the national arms of the Kingdom of Galicia, featuring pattée crosses and a red field representing blood.

The Galician Regiment was in service for the House of Bourbon, a French Capetian royal house which remains as the ruling monarchy in Spain and Luxembourg.

One of the Regiment's best known battles was the Battle of Glenshiel, Scotland, where they fought on the side of the Jacobite clans.

The Galician Regiment was disbanded and restored several times after the Kingdom of Galicia was dissolved in 1833. The current Galician Regiment is an elite infantry unit based in the Spanish province of Aragon in the Pyrenees.
