Paradanta Badger

Known in Galician as Teixugo, the badger is one of the nation's most iconic animals.

Badgers shelter underground, living in burrows which may be very extensive. Some are solitary, moving from home to home, while others are known to form clans.

Badgers are found all across Galicia, and most particularly in deciduous forests like the oak woodlands of County Paradanta in the south of Galicia.
